Carnival games are always very popular for fund-raisers, and you can add a Christian twist to many of them if you're willing to build some of the games yourself. Try a bean bag toss into a whale's mouth--think Jonah--or a "fishers of men" game using magnetic people in your pond instead of fish. Instead of trying to knock over a pyramid of bottles, have participants give their best David impression as they try to knock over a Goliath punching bag. Of course, some games, like a cakewalk, are favorites just the way they are--and, if you can get your church's best bakers to donate the cakes, you'll raise plenty.
Adult Games

If your fund-raising event is directed primarily toward adults, such as a Christian singles' night or parents' night out, consider having more group games. Bingo and Bunco are popular options, as are card games, like bridge, pinochle and rummy. Offer a variety, and have people pay a small amount to play each game--$0.50 or $1--but have a lot of different tables set up so that there's plenty of turnover. Give small novelty prizes or baked goods to winners. For most Christian groups, this is kind of like a casino night without the gambling.

You can also host a church fund-raising event centered around active games or sports, a good option for youth events. Hold a 2-on-2 basketball tournament or games of HORSE, with each team or player paying just a small entry fee per game--$2 or $3. If you can rent a gym or sports complex affordably, host a number of games, like basketball, racquetball, tennis, volleyball, etc., all at the same time. Supplement your fund-raising with this event, though, by having refreshments for sale for spectators.
