You'll stay at a guesthouse two hours south of Barcelona in the Priorat wine-making region for a six-day gourmet food and wine experience.     Cook and Taste

    • Cook and Taste Culinary School offers traditional cooking workshops in Barcelona in English. All classes begin with a visit to the Boqueria Market off Las Ramblas in Barcelona. This market is considered by the British newspaper The Guardian as "probably the best market in the world." At the market, you'll select items for the cooking class. Your 3.5 hour class teaches you everything you need to know to cook a gourmet, traditional Spanish meal. If you would like more in-depth training, Cook and Taste can design an individual class schedule for you that can last for a week or more.     • If you'd like to try your hand at molecular cooking, a Taste of Spain offers an English speaking, avant garde cooking class, located in a penthouse with a large kitchen and terrace overlooking Tibidabo Mountain, the city of Barcelona, and the sea. The goal is for you to combine regional and exotic ingredients, and using innovative cooking techniques, create a unique dish with exciting flavors, textures and colors. A few examples of this type of cooking include codfish foam with sea-urchin mousse and parmesan ice-cream sandwich. You'll learn the culinary secrets of Catalonia masters, such as Ferran Andria, considered the most revolutionary chef in the world; and Carmen Ruscadella, chef of the famous three-star restaurant, Sant Pau .
