Boyscout Eagle Gifts
Eagle Scout is the highest rank a boy can attain in the Boy Scouts of America. It takes years and determination to achieve; only about 5 percent of Scouts reach the prestigious rank, according to the Boy Scouts of America, Northern Star Council. Once achieved, a boy holds the rank for life, joining an elite group of some two million who have become Eagle Scouts since the youth organization was founded in 1910. As such, reaching this level calls for a special gift that appropriately honors this achievement.

Camping Gear
-
Though it may be apropos to give an Eagle Scout new camping equipment, such gifts can provide scouts with plenty of flexibility to fully appreciate the great outdoors. For example, some sleeping bags are better suited to colder temperatures than others. A new sleeping bag can make it possible for your Eagle Scout to camp during all seasons. Similarly, tents come in a variety of sizes. One that fits more than two people allows your scout to invite more friends along on his next camping trip.
Scout Master's Cap
-
Some Scoutmasters maintain a tradition of giving each Eagle Scout a Scout Master's cap. A Scout Master's cap is a wide-brimmed, green wool cap similar to the type of hat that drill sergeant's wear. Scoutmasters across the country wear this cap.

Survival Knife
-
One gift that gets overlooked is a good survival knife. Survival knives have a built-in compass that unscrews to reveal a variety of essential tools from matches to fishing line.
.22
-
If your Eagle Scout doesn't have any convictions about guns, consider a small rifle. A .22 caliber rifle is a smaller rifle that doesn't have a huge kick. These rifles and the ammunition for it are generally inexpensive as well.
Wooden Eagle
-
A carved wooden eagle makes for a relevant and meaningful gift. It can be displayed for years to come, reminding your Eagle Scout of his rare achievement and inspire other young boys to reach for the same.
Vintage Poster
-
A vintage Boy Scouts of America poster is an artistic and eye-catching gift. Classic posters from the Boy Scouts of America's heyday can be great conversation pieces and honor the tradition of the organization at the same time.
Fleur-de-lis
-
The fleur-de-lis symbol appears on nearly every rank in the Scouting program. It's also the national symbol for the Boy Scouts of America. The emblem appears in everything from necklaces to wall sconces, making it easy to find the right gift for your Eagle Scout.
British Pence
-
The 2007 British 50 pence coin featured a Boy Scout emblem commemorating the organization's centennial. The coin is an elegant homage to Scouting that can grow in value over time.
Flag
-
Getting a flag flown over the Capitol to celebrate your Eagle Scout's achievement can be a breathtaking experience. However, such a request requires at least four week's notice. The best way is to contact your state representative far in advance of your scout's big day.
