Curtains below the Arch
-
One of the most popular ways to dress a palladian window is by leaving the arch of the window untreated. The arch is generally high enough that it does not pose a privacy risk. Simply install a long curtain rod directly beneath the arch of the center window and run curtains normally all the way across. The arch of the center window will show through above the window and let light in whether the curtains are drawn or not.
Curtains above the Arch

Some people do not like the look of curtains installed below the arch of a palladian window. In this instance, a curtain installed above the window grouping may be the best option. A curtain rod should be installed 8 inches above the top of the arch and extend a foot on either side of the window grouping. Tiebacks need to be installed on either side of the window and then normal curtain panels can be hung. For such a large window covering, try to choose lightweight fabrics that cover the windows without being too heavy for the room. When the window coverings are closed, nobody will know that you have a palladian window. When the window coverings are open and held with the tiebacks, the entire palladian will be visible for all to enjoy.

Blinds
-
Blinds can be custom made to fit a wide variety of windows, including palladian windows. Choose wood blinds for a more natural look or go with vinyl or metal for a modern look. When the blinds are open, the palladian window will let light into your home, but when they are closed your space will be dark and private.
Curved Rods
-
Bendable and curved rods are available for purchase and are ideal for palladian windows. A curved rod is installed on the center portion of the window so that it fits the arch of the window perfectly. Smaller straight rods are installed on the two rectangular windows. Matching window treatments are installed on each rod. Rope or fancy ribbon can be used to gather the material in each section when you want to let light into your home.
