Baby Animal Farm Nursery Room Ideas
Welcoming a new baby can be a fun and exciting time and one of the most anticipated parts of preparing for your new bundle of joy is getting the nursery ready. While there are many themes you can choose from, a classic and timeless theme such as a baby animal farm is not only easy to work with, but also appropriate for both boys and girls. Whether you choose to purchase or create the decorative items yourself, there are many simple ways to transform your nursery into an animal farm.
-
Bedding
-
A good starting point for your baby's nursery is finding the right bedding. By choosing your bedding before you decorate, you can use the color palette in the bedding as an inspiration for other colors in the room.
Or if you prefer, you can select one farm animal, such as a duck or a cow, and focus your nursery around that animal. You can find farm animal baby bedding online and in baby supply stores.
Wall Art
-
After you have selected your bedding, you can begin painting the nursery. Paint a farm animal mural. If you are artistically inclined, draw your own mural on the wall using chalk and then painting it with acrylic paints. If you lack the artistic skills, purchase stencils from your local craft store to create your mural.
An alternate idea is to find a picture in a coloring book that you like. Copy the coloring book picture onto a transparency sheet. Rent an overhead projector, the kind that schools use, to project the transparency on the wall. With the image on the wall, use acrylic paints to paint the picture.
Use photos of farm animals to decorate the walls. If you've an eye for photography, visit a local farm and take your own pictures. Or purchase a calendar with photos of farm animals in them. Either hang the calendar on the wall or frame the pictures in the calendar individually.

Décorative Accents
-
Complete your room with matching decorations. You can use the same stencils you used for the wall to stencil designs on the baby's furniture.
Hardware stores sell replacement drawer pulls that you could use on the dresser. Remove the old pull and replace them with barnyard themed ones, such as barns, cows or tractors.
With stencils, you can turn a bookshelf into an animal themed piece. Stencil animals on the sides and on the back of the shelves. Or paint it white and add black spots so it looks like a cow. Include other accessories such as lamps or clocks with farm animals on it.
Toys
-
There are many toys you can find that fit the baby farm animal theme. For example, Fisher Price carries a farm set for their Little People line which can be found at toy stores. You could set up the barn and the animals on the dresser or the bookshelf.
A rocking horse, cow or pig is a fun addition to the room, likewise stuffed animals in farm animal themes. Also consider wooden pull toys in the form of dogs and ducks.
