A baby registry allows expectant parents to see what they need for the new baby. Family and friends will be able to view the gift registry and pick out things that the soon-to-be parents have selected. The registry is an aid for a group that will purchase a larger item such as a crib or stroller. People who view the registry will be able to see what items have already been purchased for the baby.
The registry list for a newborn gives expectant parents a chance to inform family and friends of specific choices they have made. A mother may have decided to nurse the baby or choose to use a bottle system. The couple may be focusing their life on the environment and will plan on using eco-conscious organic supplies for their baby. The question of cloth or disposable diapers will also be answered for those who will be giving baby shower and congratulations gifts. Items for a newborn include a baby monitor, towels, wash clothes, baby tub, gowns, onesies, socks, booties, sweater sets, sheets and blankets.
An expectant couple will need a car seat, bassinet and clothing storage as soon as the baby is born. The baby gift registry can include an infant carrier, nursing pillow, breast pump with bottles, humidifier, baby sling, crib, swing and changing table. Nursery decorations such as crib quilt, mobile, wall hangings, diaper stacker and rug that match can be listed. A new or used rocking chair is another large item that a mother will frequently use and appreciate.
Larger clothes and more advanced items will be needed for the baby within a few months from birth. Expectant parents can and should list things such as a high chair, convertible car seat and a playpen. Clothes in larger sizes will be needed for a healthy, quickly growing baby during a time when parents may have a tighter budget.
