Moby Lines operates a twice-weekly ferry between Civitavecchia and Olbia during spring, summer and fall, a four hour and forty minute journey. Moby Line ships accommodate vehicles as well as passengers and offer optional overnight sleeping compartments. Facilities on the ships include a restaurant, a lounge with large-screen TVs, a children's play area, a shopping center and a sun deck.

Tirrenia, based in southern Italy, offers year-round overnight ferry service between Civitavecchia and Olbia and between Civitavecchia and Cagliari. The line's modern ship features overnight accommodations, car service, a restaurant and bar, a self-service cafe and a shopping arcade. The journey takes about five hours to Olbia and six hours to Cagliari.
