Although a pillow is the standard holder for rings at many weddings, couples are often looking for alternatives to this traditional white satin decoration borne by their little ring bearers. As long as the rings are secure, you can use practically any container you like in your ceremony, and many of those listed here are more romantic than the traditional pillow.
  2. Trinket Box

  3. A small silver jewelry box, a crystal trinket box, a richly embellished white satin box or a hand-decorated wooden treasure chest each make a lovely holder for the rings. Depending on what you choose, you may be able to keep it as a usable memento from the wedding.
  4. Silver Tray

  5. Scatter rose petals over a piece of white satin on a small silver tray for a stunning effect. Place the rings together in the center. Make sure the tray isn't too large for the child carrying it, though.
  6. Rose and Ribbons

  7. Tie a single white ribbon around a long-stemmed rose, and then tie the rings to each of the ends of the ribbons. Just be sure the rose is without thorns.
  8. Book of Love

  9. Either use the couple's holy book of choice, or decorate a blank white journal with the couple's names for this ring bearer pillow alternative. Run a ribbon in the wedding colors through it as if the ribbon were a bookmark, with the rings tied to its ends. Place the rings on top of the book.
  10. Sea Shell

  11. Fill a large scallop shell with rose petals, and place the rings on top.
  12. Banner

  13. Create a wedding banner from a rectangle of white taffeta. Support it with a cross made of dowel rods, and decorate it with ribbons and flowers in the wedding colors. From two of the ribbons, tie the rings.
