Playing games is part of every party, not just Halloween parties. Plan games that are easy to teach and understand for party guests. Consider Halloween games with reusable items for next year's party. Try giving traditional games a Halloween twist so guests already know how to play. Provide the winning team with small prizes so the guests get more excited about playing. To keep the groups small, rotate party guests through the games as stations.
  2. Candy Corn Catch

  3. Play candy corn catch. Purchase several bags of candy corn and plastic pumpkins with a hole in the top. Divide party guests into teams of four or five. Provide each guest with a supply of candy corn. Consider dividing candy corn ahead of time and placing into Ziploc bags to pass out quickly and easily. Each guest should receive the same number of pieces of candy corn. Use ribbon to tie the pumpkin to one of the team member's waist. Move the teammate wearing the pumpkin several feet away. Begin tossing candy corns, encouraging the teammate with the pumpkin to move to catch it. However, they are not allowed to use their hands. Allow teammates to take turns wearing the pumpkin, and the team with the most candy corns in the pumpkin wins.
  4. Pumpkin Bowling

  5. Prepare pumpkin bowling for party guests to enjoy. Save large 2-liter soda bottles for several months before the party. Wash the bottles and remove the labels. Allow the bottles to dry completely and paint them white. These don't have to be perfect, so a quick coat of paint gets the job done. Use a permanent marker to draw a ghost's face with eyes and a mouth when the paint is dry. Consider placing sand in the bottom of the bottles so they are a little more sturdy. Purchase several mini-pumpkins to use as bowling balls. Line up five to eight of the plastic bottles as bowling pins. Consider placing the pins near your garage door to use as a backstop for the pumpkins. Divide the party guests into two or three teams and bowl.
  6. Witch's Hat Ring Toss

  7. Play a modified version of ring toss. Try to ring a witch's hat that's stuffed with paper and sitting point side up. Use glow in-the-dark necklaces as the rings. Make sure not to open these before the party because the glow time is limited. Divide guests into three teams, providing each team with four rings. Place the hats at varying distances. Assign a point value to each hat, with the farthest hat worth the most points. Keep track of each teams points. Add all the points together after each guest has attempted to throw the rings. The team with the most points is the winner. Consider eliminating one team and having a throw off with the two remaining teams.
