Juvenile justice integrated treatment settings combat juvenile delinquency with a holistic treatment approach rather than the alternative of being sent to a detention center, which does not engage the youth offender. Juvenile offenders who are sentenced to actual detention are sometimes diverted into residential treatment facilities. This is dependent upon the results of psychological testing completed during or before incarceration; some juveniles are more in need of treatment than punishment.
Juvenile Ossifying Fibroma (JOF) is a bony-hard lesion or mass that forms over a portion of a bone somewhere on the face and causes swelling or facial asymmetry. Usually asymptomatic, pain can sometimes occur depending on the lesion's location. Although termed "juvenile," this rare disease can occur at all ages, and treatment options depend on the severity of the condition.
