The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that blackjack dealers in California earned an average salary of $23,070 as of 2010, slightly higher than the national average of $21,820. Salaries for dealers across the country ranged from less than $15,640 to over $36,490 a year.

The highest-paying area in California for blackjack dealers was Fresno with a salary average of $28,220 as of 2010, reports the bureau. San Diego offered an average of $24,760. In Bakersfield, blackjack dealers earned an average income of $18,370 a year, and in Sacramento the average was $25,690. In the metropolitan area of Los Angeles, Long Beach and Santa Ana, dealers earned an average of $20,750 a year, while the average was $22,030 in San Francisco and $22,420 in San Jose. In the rural north coast region of California, blackjack dealers earned an average of $22,950 a year.

Nationwide, the average for dealers working in gambling industries was higher than for those working in traveler accommodation (including hotels and resorts) with salary averages of $25,910 for the former and $17,800 for the latter. The top wages were found in amusement and recreation industries with a salary average of $34,900 annually.
