Salads
-
Eggs, chicken and tuna can all be combined with mayonnaise to make a salad sandwich. Chopped celery, onion, Dijon mustard, walnuts and pine nuts are some of the ingredients you can mix in with your salad. Try serving these sandwiches on sourdough bread or croissants to compliment the consistency of the salads.
Hoagies

Hoagies or submarine sandwiches are more hearty than sandwiches made on traditional sandwich bread. Use long French bread and fill with items like meatballs. Deli meats also make good hoagies. Pastrami, roast beef and corned beef stacked high with vegetables and cheese can be created in six or 12 inches depending on your level of hunger.
Alternative Breads
-
The taste of commonly eaten sandwiches can be changed and complemented by the bread that you use to make them. Try bagels, croissants, English muffins or pita bread as a change of pace. You can also experiment with gourmet Artisan breads.
