Yew trees are one of many trees available to players in "RuneScape."

"RuneScape" is a massively multi-player online role-playing game. In this game, players have many options for skills for their characters to train. One of these skills is Woodcutting, which involves cutting the different types of trees and plants in the world of "RuneScape." To train Woodcutting efficiently, a player's character must cut progressively higher-leveled plants and trees. One of the highest-leveled trees is the yew.

  1. Yew Trees

    • A character is able to cut yew trees using a hatchet upon reaching level 60 woodcutting. Cutting a yew tree yields yew logs and 175 experience points. This is the highest-level tree that is available to non-members, or players who have not paid to play, and is one of the highest-leveled trees for members as well. Yew trees are located between Draynor Village and Lumbridge, north of Varrock Palace, south of Falador, north of Rimmington, south of the Edgeville Bank, west of Catherby, in the southeast corner of the Tree Gnome Stronghold, in the Seer's Village cemetery and outside the Varrock earth altar. The best location for cutting yew trees is up to debate, as each location has different and convenient aspects, but some locations are more convenient than others.

    South of Falador

    • There are several yew trees south of Falador. This is a convenient location for both members and non-members due to the number of banking options. South of this location is Port Sarim, which has a deposit box. To the north is Falador, which has two banks. To the east is Draynor, which has another bank. In addition, the cabbage patch is nearby for a quick return to woodcutting if you have an Explorer's Ring 3 or 4, which allows you to teleport to this cabbage patch an unlimited number of times per day.

    Edgeville

    • There are yew trees in the town of Edgeville, which is a location available to both members and non-members. This is an extremely convenient location because it is very close to a bank, only a few seconds walking or running. Edgeville is also relatively close to the Grand Exchange, which means that it is easy to cut yew logs, then go to the Grand Exchange to sell them if desired. However, because this location is so convenient, there is often competition from other players for the trees.

    Tree Gnome Village

    • The Tree Gnome Village is a location that is only available to members. This is a good location that, like the yew trees at Falador and Edgeville, is close to a bank. If you are training fletching by making yew bows from the logs, this location is very convenient in that there are flax plants and spinning wheels near the yew trees, which are necessary for making bow strings. This enables you to both create and string the bows at a single location.
