Use only the tongue in this experiment. Blindfold the subject and place the hands at the sides. Do not tie the hands, as subjects will pinch their noses to eliminate the olfactory sense. Subjects are instructed to open their mouths and allow you to place small pieces of food onto their tongues. Using only their sense of taste, the subjects will identify the food. Compare each subject to each other to determine who guessed which food area. For example, did a younger subject identify a sweet food more easily than an older subject?
