The Best Weapons for Paladins in WoW
Paladins are an extremely gear-dependent class in "World of Warcraft" and, because of this, they can be hard to play. They are a hybrid class capable of fulfilling any of the three roles in the game, those being healing, tanking or damage. Healing Paladins will use the Holy tree, tanking Paladins will use the Protection tree and damage-dealing Paladins will use the Retribution tree. The best weapons for your Paladin will be completely different depending on your role and whether you are gearing your character up for PvE (Player versus Environment) or PvP (Player versus Player).

Holy
-
Intellect and spirit are the two most important stats for any healer, regardless of class. Intellect gives you more manna, spell power and a higher chance for your spells to do critical damage or healing. As a healer, you will typically be looking for a one-handed weapon and an off-hand item. Some of the easier epic items to obtain at level 85 are "Andoros, Fist of the Dragon King" and "Kingdom's Heart."
Protection
-
Protection Paladins are tanks. This means that they always need to have a shield equipped in addition to a one-handed weapon, since damage-dealing is not their purpose. Strength and stamina are the two most important stats here, and with your shield, you will want to have a stat like parry as well. Some of the best items available which are fairly easy to obtain by lower-tier raiding are "Mace of Acrid Death" and "Akmin-Kurai, Dominion's Shield."

Retribution
-
You will be concentrating on dealing damage as much as possible with this tree, so you will be using a two-handed weapon instead of a one-handed weapon and a shield. Stamina is not as important, but strength is still your main stat. Secondary stats which you should look out for include mastery, expertise and critical strike. One of the best items available from lower-tier raiding include "Akirus the Worm-Breaker."
PvP Considerations
-
PvP Paladins will normally be Holy or Retribution, though there's gear available for Protection as wel. The same main stats apply to PvP gear as they do to PvE gear. However, PvP-specific gear provides the essential stat, resilience, which decreases damage done by other players. Purchase lower-level PvP gear with Honor Points and the higher level gear with Conquest Points. To start out with, Retribution Paladins should grab "Vicious Gladiator's Greatsword" as soon as they have enough Honor Points. Protection Paladins will want "Vicious Gladiator's Slicer" combined with "Vicious Gladiator's Shield Wall" while Holy Paladins will want "Vicious Gladiator's Gavel" combined with "Vicious Gladiator's Redoubt."
