Food Truck Manager Salary

Food trucks have become a mainstay in American lunch, dinner and late-night cuisine on the street, and the people who manage these vehicles are akin to restaurant managers on wheels. Despite the size of the trucks compared to that of a traditional restaurant, the food truck manager actually makes a salary that's comparable to his on-the-ground counterparts.

Wages on Wheels

  • Reported salaries for food truck managers vary widely, depending upon the job site. As of 2014, Indeed reports that those who hold this position make about $39,000 per year, while Simply Hired cites $49,000 per year as the average. These food professionals earn about the same amount of money as traditional restaurant managers, who take home about $41,000 per year, according to Indeed. Food truck managers can earn a similar salary because the overhead costs of managing a truck are less than that of a brick-and-mortar establishment.
