Army boots are built to last tough battle field conditions. The lacing of an army boot provides some added comfort so that the boot can flex a little more while worn. Lacing army boots with normal crisscrossing will add discomfort to foot and ankle.

Place the lace through one eyelet at the bottom of the boot and then through the eyelet across from it. Pull the laces up so they are even. Ensure that the lace went underneath not on top.

Take one end of the lace and place it through the eyelet above the one it just came out. Do this on both sides. The laces should now be on the underside of the eyelet.

Pull the lace on the left side up through the eyelet on the right side diagonally. Pull the lace on the right side up through the eyelet on the left side diagonally. The laces should now lay on top of the boot.

Take one end of the lace and place it through the eyelet above the one it just came out. Do this on both sides. The laces again should be on the underside of the eyelet.

Take the lace from the right side and pull it up through the eyelet on the left side diagonally up from it. Take the lace from the left side and pull it up through the eyelet on the right side diagonally up from it.

Repeat this process up to the top of the boot and then tie it off.
