As many as 143 million children live as orphans or displaced globally, a total which surpasses the entire population of Russia, according to UNICEF in 2011. In order to combat this startling global problem, thousands of orphanages across the world provide shelter and care for children who cannot otherwise find these necessities. For orphanages backed by Christian organizations, a number of grants exist to aid in funding and accelerate the important goal of serving children in need.

Interested parties should send a letter of interest to the Lundman Family Foundation to begin the application process.

Fairwyn Fund

Although it awards grants to Christian organizations of all types, the Fairwyn Fund gives special attention to those pursuing missions in Asia. This makes it an excellent source of potential funding for Christian orphanages choosing this continent as their area of focus. Grants for $10,000 to $30,000 are awarded and the foundation's total giving averages over $800,000 per year. Applicants should contact the Fairwyn Fund directly to receive a grant application.
