Craft Projects With Coffee Mate Containers

Save

Coffee-mate creamer containers are perfect to reuse for both household items and children's craft projects. Recycle the large containers for powdered creamers into plant pots or Halloween trick-or-treat buckets for young children. The liquid creamer bottles are also great for family crafts, like flower vases and snowman décor.

Planting Pot

  • Wash and dry the plastic Coffee-mate container. Drill four small holes through the bottom of the container. Hammering a nail through the bottom of the container is also another way to make the four drainage holes. Paint the outside of the Coffee-mate container with acrylic paint. Allow to dry thoroughly before applying a second coat. Adhere craft items such as plastic gems, artificial flowers, and decorative ribbon onto the container with a hot glue gun.

Halloween Bucket

  • Clean the inside of the container prior to decorating. Drill two holes on each side of the container near the top for the handle. Wrap construction paper around the Coffee-mate container and secure it in place with clear tape. Adorn the outside of the container with drawings of pumpkins, bats and witch hats or attach Halloween-themed stickers. Lace a long piece of twine or ribbon through one of the handle holes and knot into place. Lace the opposite end through the second handle hole and knot into place as well.

Flower Vase

  • Remove the top and discard. Rinse out the Coffee-mate liquid creamer container and place it upside down to dry. Hot glue thick strips of green craft felt around the outside of the container. Cut out colorful flowers from felt and hot glue them around the middle section of the creamer container. Glue craft gems in the center of the felt flowers. Hot glue different colored craft pipes as stems for each of the flowers. Fill the vase with water and add fresh cut flowers.

Snowman Decor

  • Prepare the container by removing any labels, then wash and dry it. Set the red top aside. Paint the outside of the bottle in solid white. Allow it to dry and then apply a second coat of the white acrylic paint. Paint small, black eyes and a mouth. Paint a tiny orange triangle for the carrot nose. Tie a piece of scrap fabric, felt or thick ribbon around the neck of the bottle for the snowman's scarf. Hot glue sewing buttons down the front of the liquid creamer bottle. Reattach the red top to represent the snowman's hat.
