Steaming your face will open your pores and remove impurities. To steam your face you will need two liters of water, two tablespoons of dried herbs, and a towel. Pour your water into a large pot, add the herbs, and cover it with a lid. Allow the water to come to a boil. Turn the heat down and let the water simmer for 5 minutes. Remove the lid, tie your hair back, and hold your face 12 inches from the water. Cover your head with the towel, so that the pot is covered and the steam does not escape. Steam your face for ten minutes and then rinse with cold water. It is best to do this before using any masks or scrubs, because it will open your pores.

Exfoliating your skin is a very important step to take, to rid it of impurities. Dead skin cells build-up on the face and can clog your pores, if you don't exfoliate. Sugar makes a wonderful natural facial scrub. Mix 1/3 cup of sugar with the juice of a lemon and rub it on your skin in a circular motion. Wash your skin with water and pat it dry. This works great for people with oily skin, because the lemon helps to dry the skin and there is no added oil.
