What Is Macromedia Fireworks?
Adobe Fireworks, formally known as Macromedia Fireworks, is a software bundle that provides tools to create optimized graphics for display on the Web and mobile devices. You can create graphics to fit perfectly on websites, smartphones and in-store kiosks. As of the date of publication, the software sold for $299 on the Adobe Store for a new license. Previous Adobe Fireworks users can upgrade by paying $149. Software downloads are available immediately after paying.

Adobe Fireworks CS5 offers a range of powerful vector and bitmap tools to fully optimized your graphics for any device or platform. Some of the features include pixel-precise rendering, improved type handling, enhanced scaling, optimization tools and the Adobe Swatch Exchange (ASE). Additionally, you will need a DVD-ROM to install the software. You have to activate the product via the Internet prior to use.
