Slide Mount Crafts
Originally used for photography, slide mounts are perfect to make beautiful scrapbook decorations. Not only do they work for multiple craft ideas, but the mounts are acid free so they won't ruin your photos. Slide mounts come in a variety of colors and materials, such as plastic, metal and paper, so any scrapbook theme can be matched. And it is relatively flat, so you don't have to worry about excess bulk.

Frame
-
The obvious choice for a slide mount is to use it as a picture frame. You can either cut the photograph to fit the frame, or place the mount on a larger photo to create a focal point. If you add glue dots underneath the mount, it will create a shadow box effect or you can link multiple slides together to create a film strip effect.
Shaker Box
-
Using a page protector, create two squares that are the same size as the slide mount. Seal three of the square seams together, creating a small pocket. Fill that with confetti, sand or anything else you might like. Seal the last seam of the square and glue it to the slide mount.

Miniature Book
-
Look for oversized slide mounts that can be used to make small books. Place decorative paper on one side of the mount. Take card stock or another thick paper and trace the mount onto it. Cut as many copies as you want to use as pages for the book. Place it together with a slide mount, and put a couple of small holes through the left side. Bind the slide mount and blank pages together using ribbon or wire. Decorate the cover as you see fit.
Charm Box
-
Pick your favorite ribbon that matches your design. Wrap the ribbon around the slide mount leaving the middle open. You can use glue in the back to keep the ribbon in place. Make a bow or other designs with the ribbon. Take a charm and sew it in place on the ribbon so that it hangs from the middle of the slide mount.
