How Does the Alarm Clock on the iPod Touch Work?
Apple's iPod Touch is sold with many preinstalled functions, including an alarm clock. The alarm clock is easy to use and is more versatile than standard alarm clocks. The iPod Touch's alarm is ideal if you travel, as you don't have to worry about setting hotel alarm clocks or arranging a wake-up call.

Access
-
You can access the iPod Touch alarm clock by pressing the "Utilities" icon on the device's home screen. From there, press the "Clock" icon and choose "Alarm" from the four options across the bottom of the screen. The other available clock functions are "World Clock," "Stopwatch" and "Timer." The "Clock" icon may appear separately on your home screen instead of being within a "Utilities" group.
Setup
-
To set the alarm, press the "+" icon once you've clicked on "Alarm." Here, you can set the frequency of the alarm by clicking "Repeat." If you want the alarm to sound daily, click each day of the week. Then, press the "On/Off" button beside "Snooze" to activate the snooze feature, if desired. Press "Sound" to choose from a list of sounds and set the alarm's time by adjusting the scrolling bars with hours, minutes and AM/PM. Press "Save" to save your alarm clock settings.

Sounds
-
One of the benefits of the iPod Touch alarm clock is the variety of alarm sounds. You have 25 different sounds from which to choose, so you can code different sounds for different types of events. Sounds range from docile, such as the "Harp" and "Crickets" to aggressive, such as the "Motorcycle" and "Alarm." Other sounds include a car horn, piano and xylophone.
Daily Use
-
Your alarms repeat on schedule. When the alarm rings in the morning, the screen lights up. Slide to the right the arrow that appears to stop the alarm. Press the "Snooze" onscreen button to use the snooze feature. If you choose "Snooze," the alarm will ring again after nine minutes.
Exceptions
-
To disable a repeating alarm temporarily, for instance so that the alarm doesn't sound the morning of a vacation day, launch the "Clock" app. Touch the "ON/OFF" toggle button to turn the alarm off. The night before you want the alarm to sound again, launch the "Clock" app and touch the "ON/OFF" toggle button to turn the alarm on.
