Paints That Match With Twilight Blue

Twilight blue is a medium blue. Not as dark as, for instance, midnight blue, it does share a bit of midnight blue's gray tinge. Deeper and darker than powder blue, it has a stronger presence in a room. There are plenty of paints that will match with twilight blue; the direction you select will depend on the circumstances specific to your decor.

Whites

Whites and off-whites pair with twilight blue, as they are suitable companions for any color. A little dull, generally, but good as a simple choice, these whites stay out of the way of other color elements. A pure white of the highest intensity could be terribly brash. Some softening is in order for most palettes. Try a cool off white, one with a blue-gray tinge, to echo the twilight blue. A pinkish off-white provides a breath of contrast.

Blues

Staying with blue gives you a no-fail option, just as the whites, but with a little more liveliness. This monochrome choice gets variety from value difference, so go lighter or darker than twilight blue. Lighter, pastel blues offer brightness, but not much substance. Darker blues, like blueberry, are dramatic, but best for an accent wall, unless you like the darker tones. Stay away from greener blues, like sea foam blue, generally, unless you have other green pieces to accompany it.

Gray

Gray is a splendid choice for twilight blue, as it picks up gray within twilight blue. Gunmetal, smoke gray or similar grays between light and dark have gravity. Lighter grays, like dove gray, have more heft than off-whites and still offer a neutral aspect that won't blend poorly with other hues. Metallic paints like silver offer striking options, too.

Oranges

Orange is the complement of blue. This means that, with something in the orange family, you'll get some fireworks. Go with a brilliant orange against twilight blue for maximum impact. These two colors will be dramatic paired. Pastel oranges are a second choice, offering fine contrast with less power. A rust or similarly neutralized orange gives you a homey option that won't lack for zing.
