Shiny, smooth hair is associated with healthy hair. Dry hair appears dull and lifeless and has a tendency to frizz, causing a rough texture. Women spend a lot of money trying to remedy dry hair, but some of the best cures don't cost very much at all. You can make them using ingredients you may already have in your kitchen.   1. Avocado

    • Avocado is a fantastic source of essential fats. These fats not only benefit the body when consumed as a regular part of a healthy diet, but also can deliver moisture topically to skin and hair. Cut one ripe avocado in half lengthwise. Twist the halves and pull them apart. Remove the flesh with a spoon and discard the pit. Mash the green flesh and combine with one mashed, ripe banana. Spread the mixture evenly on your hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Wash the mixture out, and then style your hair as usual. If you have any leftover, you can use the same mixture as a moisturizing mask for your face.

    Egg

    • Eggs contain saturated fat and protein. This combination provides shine and smoothness by moisturizing and removing product buildup. Combine three eggs, 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a small bowl. Smooth the mixture through your hair, cover with a plastic cap or bag, and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Wash your hair with warm, not hot, water and style as usual.

    Mayonnaise

    • Mayonnaise's ingredients of egg, oil and vinegar are a pre-made healthy-hair cocktail. Smooth ½ cup of full-fat mayonnaise through your hair, cover with a plastic cap or bag, and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Wash and style your hair as usual.

    Coconut Oil

    • Coconut oil is loaded with saturated fat and is solid at temperatures cooler than 70 degrees. It soothes the senses with its natural aroma as you relax with this nourishing hair treatment. In a small bowl, combine 4 tablespoons coconut oil with 2 tablespoons honey. Heat the mixture in the microwave just until warm. The coconut oil will revert to its liquid state. Stir to combine. Spread the mixture through your hair using your hands. Comb through with a wide-toothed comb. Allow the mixture to remain on your hair for 30 minutes, and then wash and style your hair as usual.

    Sweet Almond Oil

    • Although taking time to relax with a hair treatment may be soothing, many people do not have that amount of time on a regular basis. For a simple stopgap between intensive treatments, take a few drops of sweet almond oil, rub between palms and smooth through damp, clean hair. Style your hair as usual. You can perform this treatment daily if necessary. It is powerful at combating styling and heat damage.
