For Adobe Reader 10, also called Adobe Reader X, to function properly on your computer, you must meet the minimum system requirements as specified by the manufacturer. The system requirements vary based upon your computer's operating system. Keep your computer up to date to help you maintain the minimum system requirements.

    • For a Windows operating system, the processor on your computer must run at 1.3 GHz or faster, and should be an Intel. You need memory to run the program, so you must have 260MB of free hard drive space, with at least 256MB of RAM, though Adobe recommends 512MB of RAM for the best results. You can use Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, and either the Home, Business or Enterprise editions. Screen resolution should be at least 1024 by 576. You can use either Internet Explorer versions 7 or 8, or Mozilla Firefox versions 3.5 or 3.6.

    Mac

    • For the Mac OS X operating system, the version should be 10.5.8 or 10.6.4. Memory requirements include 415MB of free space on the hard drive, with a minimum of 512MB of RAM. Adobe recommends 1GB of RAM for the best results, and a screen resolution of 1024 by 768; however, 800 by 600 is the minimum required resolution. Use Apple's Safari browser in versions 4 or 5.

    Symbian

    • You can use a Symbian operating system version 1.1, running either Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millennium, Windows NT or Windows XP. You must have at least 64MB of RAM available and be running on an Intel Pentium, or similar, processor. You should also have at least 1.6MB of space on your Symbian device, plus an additional 800KB for Adobe Reader 10 installation.

    Android

    • To run Adobe Reader 10 on an Android-based system, you need to 5.7MB in hard drive space available. Adobe Reader X works on Android 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. Keep 256MB of RAM available to install and run the program, and make sure you have at least a 550 MHz processor.
