What Are All the Types of Supernatural Phenomenon?
The world around you is composed of what seems to be physical matter. But use an electron microscope to view more deeply into levels of matter, and you'll eventually arrive at light, energy and space. While scientists are investigating such topics as energy and quantum physics, other phenomena are taking place in the world of the unexplained, or paranormal. Ghosts

Ghost sightings are hard to prove. Hearsay, legends, folktales and fairy tales contain a variety of characters, some of which are ghosts. These disembodied beings sometimes appear to people in the psychical world. Some people claim to have had ghostly encounters, such as at a "haunted" mansion or while sitting at home when a departed loved one makes an appearance. Because they can't seem to be captured in photographs or on film, ghosts remain an elusive subject.
The "Clairs" and Other Gifts

Some people claim they can "see" beyond the physical world by using crystal balls and other objects. People in the metaphysical fields attest to having various gifts of the spirit. Some of these gifts are clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience. The term "psychic" comes up in relation to these subjects. Clairvoyance is the ability to see what isn't visible to others--a special type of "inner" seeing or viewing life from a different dimension. Clairaudience is the ability to the hear what others can't, such as the voices of spirit guides. Clairsentience is the ability to sense at a level far beyond "normal," such as knowing what others are feeling. Some people who are clairsentient also may have one of both of the other "clairs."

Angels, Demons and ETs

Angels and other mystical beings are featured in countless paintings through time. Angels seem to be making a comeback in recent decades as more people publicize encounters with perceived "Beings of Light." Channelers have cropped up by the hundreds who claim to be able to channel angels. You'd know if you genuinely encountered one because you would feel very peaceful, loved and calm. Demons, on the other hand, send chills up your spine and make you want to run. With the plethora of unidentified flying object (UFO) and extraterrestrial (ET) stories--of sightings and abductions--that abound, it can be hard to discern what is true.

From big foot and banshees who carouse forests and hide out in secret places to the gentle-spirited and helpful mermaid, numerous other creatures and beings are included in the paranormal and supernatural phenomena lists. Other common ones are selkies, shape-shifters, werewolves and vampires--each of which come with accompanying legends, myths and other stories. To know if any of them were real, you'd most likely have to have a direct encounter yourself.
