Advantages of Bidets
The bidet, prevalent in Europe, is a bathroom fixture invented by the French. Many times, tourists see bidets and aren't sure what to do because they're not commonly found in American homes. Once you see a bidet, whether in another home or in a public tourist location, you may decide to implement one in your own home. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Instant Cleanliness
-
A bidet sprays warm water to your perineum area after you finish relieving yourself. Since the result is instant, bacteria doesn't have as much opportunity to grow.
Toilet Paper
-
Toilet paper is harsh, especially in bulk when purchased for public bathrooms. It is cheaper to buy thinner paper than the soft, more soothing paper. Using a bidet eliminates toilet paper use, meaning you don't need to rub it abrasively on sensitive regions.
-
Reduce Bacteria
-
Most people do not wash their hands after using the bathroom, which increases chances of infectious diseases spreading. Even when people do wash their hands, they come into contact with surfaces such as door handles to open stalls or the lever to flush the toilet before getting the opportunity wash their hands. A bidet does the washing for you and significantly decreases your chances of coming into bacteria through fecal matter.
Money
-
While the initial investment for a bidet can be as large as $3,000, you save money in both water and toilet paper costs. BioRelief report that their bidet only uses 1/8 of a gallon of water for each use, a far cry from the water needed to flush a toilet again and again. Once you invest the money to install a bidet, you don't need to purchase toilet paper again and again, which adds up over time.
Hygiene
-
A bidet benefits hygiene for all, young and old and male or female. Females benefit greatly during their menstrual cycles when the genital region is messier. Some pregnancy side effects such as hemorrhoids or rashes improve with better hygiene habits. Men benefit from a bidet to reduce rectal itching or hemorrhoid problems. Children may not always wipe well enough, while the bidet ensures complete cleanliness.
