The Lysol Neutra Air Freshmatic is an odor-neutralizing product by Lysol that automatically releases a fragrant spray to kill odor-causing bacteria in the air. This automatic air freshener can be set for every nine, 18 or 36 minutes and includes a quick-release button for instant relief. It comes with the automatic unit, two AA batteries and one fragrance spray. If, however, you purchase this product and soon find that you are having trouble with it, there are a few troubleshooting tips that you can follow. Fortunately, most of the problems with a Freshmatic are simple to fix and can be done by yourself.
The Batteries Are Not Properly Installed
The unit will not work if the batteries are installed incorrectly. Slide the power switch to the "Off" position. Press the button on the top of the unit and open the cover. Remove the batteries and replace them according to the polarity guide inside the battery compartment. Press firmly on the batteries to make sure they are secure, then set the desired spray timer and close the cover.
The Batteries Are Depleted
The Lysol Freshmatic comes with two AA batteries that are designed to last through four to five cans of fragrance. The batteries will need to be replaced in order for the unit to continue working properly. You will know it is time to change them once the green light stops flashing or turns off completely. Turn the unit to "Off" then open the cover. Remove and discard the depleted batteries and then insert two fresh AA batteries according to the polarity guide. Set the desired spray time and close the cover.
The Fragrance Can Is Not Properly Installed
The Freshmatic will not release the spray if the can is installed incorrectly. Turn the unit to "Off" and open the cover. Gently remove the spray can. Pull the red lever up and then reinsert the spray can with the nozzle facing toward you. Set the desired timer and close the cover. Turn the unit away from your face and slide the power switch to "On." Press the "X-Press" button on the front of the unit to make sure the can is inserted properly.
The Fragrance Can is Empty
The Freshmatic fragrance spray cans are designed to last through 2,400 sprays, or up to 60 days, on the 36-minute setting. The can will need to be changed in order to continue emitting fragrance. You will know it is time to change the can when the green light begins flashing rapidly or the fragrance is no longer released. Turn the unit to "Off" and open the cover. Remove and discard the empty can. Make sure the red lever is up and insert a fresh spray can. Set the desired timer and close the cover. Press the "X-Press" button on the front of the unit to make sure the can is inserted properly.
