Types of Good Qualities in a Person

Save

No two people are alike; the world is full of individuals who possess their own unique skills and talents. While there is no definition of what makes a good person, there are some characteristics that are particularly desirable. Individuals who possess these characteristics are often capable of forming strong relationships with others and moving through life with purpose, achieving goals and reaching expectations.

Hardworking

  • It is often desirable for a person to be willing to put effort into tasks of all sorts, both in the workplace and at home. Individuals who are hardworking can be relied upon to do what they need to do, regardless of how difficult the task may be, making them people others can depend on.

Driven

  • While some individuals are content to simply move through life doing what needs to be done and nothing more, others are driven to go beyond the requirements of daily living and make great achievements. Individuals who are driven are often self-starters who do not need to be pushed but instead push themselves to achieve greatness.

Trustworthy

  • Many appreciate individuals upon whom they can depend. Trustworthy individuals can be relied upon to keep secrets and act as confidants, making them popular with friends and family members who need to get potentially upsetting information off of their chest or speak to someone about issues with which they are struggling.

Compassionate

  • Individuals who are compassionate can put themselves in the shoes of others, imagining how other people must feel and interacting with them in response to this understanding. When you're compassionate, you're capable of empathizing even if you've never been through the same situation, making you an effective support for those in need.

Cooperative

  • While people complete some things individually, often many of the biggest tasks that people undertake require teamwork. An individual who is cooperative can work well with others, focusing on the task at hand and working to keep groups running smoothly, likely increasing the speed with which groups can accomplish tasks and the overall quality of the products they produce.

Brave

  • Bravery is not something that can be taught, but something that some individuals simply possess. When an individual is brave, she doesn't back down from challenges or allow her fear to control her actions, but instead continues on in her efforts, undaunted by stumbling blocks that appear to lie in her way.
