Prayers in Time of Hope

Prayers in Time of Hope thumbnail
God delights in prayers of thanksgiving and expectancy.

While people often turn to prayer during a crisis or when things look bleak, they may forget to pray when things are hopeful and moving forward. The apostle Paul writes, "Pray continually, and give thanks whatever happens" in 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18a. In other words, pray in the good times and the bad times.

  1. Affirming Hope

    • God, I know that blessings are coming my way. The Bible says that you give good gifts to your children and that you supply our every need. I affirm this in my life and the lives of my family and friends. I believe that this is a time of hope and promise and not a time to worry or fear for tomorrow. I face each new day with hope and expectancy. I rest in your provision, mercy, love and grace. Amen

    Thanksgiving

    • I come to you, Father God, in thanksgiving and celebration of all that you are and all that you do in my life. I lack for nothing and I am blessed on every hand. I count my blessings today. I have forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus. I live in a beautiful world of wonder you made and I see your handiwork before me. I have family and friends I share love with. I have a blessed church family where your name is exalted each week. I live in a body that supports me and allows me do your will. I thank you for each of these blessings and many more in my life today. Amen.

    Continued Support

    • Gracious Lord, I begin this day asking for your continued support as I work to change my life and become a new creation in you. Your strength upholds me and your light guides me in the way of all wisdom. You bring people along side of me who support me and help me learn how to be the best me I can be. I am grateful for your love and support. I pray that others see you shine through me. Amen.

    Praying for Others

    • Jesus, bless those who lead our country and our world with your wisdom and discernment. I see your people lifting hands to help those in need, showing your love and peace to those around them and living lives that honor you. I pray for those who lead my state, local and city government. May they also be blessed with wisdom and a desire to work together for the good of all. Bless those who lead my church. We show your light to those who seek a better way and we welcome them with your love. I am grateful for the blessed hope you give and I see it ever before me. Amen.
