Wall Street bankers--or investment bankers--arrange various financial transactions for their clients or employers. For example, an investment banker might speak to a company or individual about investing in a stock or other financial arrangement, or he might help a company that is facing a financial difficulty, according to the State University website. According to the State University website, the starting salary for investment bankers is typically between $45,000 and $85,000. According to the Careers in Investment Banking website, junior investment bankers, or those with a bachelor's degree, typically earn between $100,000 and $130,000 per year on average, while those with a master's degree earn between $90,000 and $180,000 on average.
