The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index rated Boulder, Colorado, as the No. 1 place to live in America, according to "USA TODAY." The city, nestled in the foothills of the Rocky mountain range, surpassed other locations based on information gleaned from interviewing over 353,000 residents. Topics covered included emotional health, job satisfaction, financial stability and physical well-being. Publicly accessible park land and outdoor walking areas play a role in keeping you healthy and happy, according to Boulder's mayor, Susan Osborne.

San Jose, California, tops Forbes list of America's most affordable, family-oriented cities. Rent is high, however, there is a huge percentage difference between average annual earnings ($100,000) compared to the yearly cost of living ($54,685), according to "Forbes." The reason for this difference is because Silicon Valley, part of San Jose, offers tech jobs that pay so well. San Jose has plenty of kid-friendly activities, including Happy Hollow Park and Zoo and live music at the HP Pavilion.

Choose Yuma, Arizona, if you enjoy heat. The small city was listed as No.1 for the best residential weather by "The Farmer's Almanac." The ranking was based on weather readings of temperatures, precipitation, wind, humidity and sky observations. Yuma ranked No. 1 because the medium-sized city has an average of 17 days of rain. The average humidity of 38 percent is one of the lowest in the country.

Buford, Georgia, is No. 3 of 100 towns rated as the best place to live if you are looking for a combination of scenery and affordable housing, according to "CNN Money." The town is within 35 miles of Atlanta, without the hectic pace of city life. Within 16-square miles, there is the largest shopping mall (Mall of Georgia) in the Southeast and a thriving downtown with access to shopping, restaurants and art galleries.
