"World of Warcraft" is a very popular computer game.

"World of Warcraft" is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game where players create a character and adventure through a large fantasy world. Player versus player (PvP) combat is a type of combat where characters fight against other player controlled characters rather than a computer generated opponent. Twinks are low level characters that have very powerful equipment, making them stronger than most characters at that level.

  1. Choosing a Class

    • It is important for each player to choose a class that fits her play style and the type of role she would like to play. People who want to do damage to their enemies by casting spells from a distance might want to play a caster such as a warlock. People who prefer to get up close and personal, attacking an enemy from melee range might enjoy a class such as a rogue or warrior. For people who prefer to strengthen and heal their allies, a healing class such as a priest might be best. Some classes, such as a druid or a shaman, can fill all three of these roles.

    Level-Locking

    • Most twinks choose to play in the level 10 to 14 battlegrounds, because they are the lowest possible level battlegrounds. Battlegrounds give each character a small amount of experience, and can cause a twink to level up to 15, meaning he will have to play in a different bracket. To avoid this, twinks will often level-lock, meaning they no longer gain experience. Alliance characters can speak to Behsten in Stormwind Keep to lock their experience. Horde characters can speak to Slahtz in the large red building in the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar.

    Heirloom Guild Gear

    • Heirloom gear is a special type of gear that binds to a player's account rather than a specific character. Typically people with twinks will use their high level characters to acquire heirloom gear which is powerful gear they can give to their twink. If a character belongs to a guild that is level 10 or higher, he can purchase a high quality cloak for the twink. If the guild is level twenty, the character can buy a helm for the twink. The character buying the gear must be honored with the guild, however it is easy to gain guild reputation for a high level character by completing quests, fighting in battlegrounds or participating in raids. The cloak will cost 1200 gold and the helm will cost 1500.

    Heirloom PvP Gear

    • Characters who participate in PvP battlegrounds or arenas can earn honor, a currency used to buy certain types of equipment designed to make a character more powerful in PvP combat. High level characters can use honor to buy heirloom gear for a PvP twink. Characters can purchase pauldrons, weapons and a trinket from the Honor Heirlooms vendor located in their faction's capital city. Pauldrons will cost 2175 honor, a weapon will cost 3500 honor and a trinket will cost 2725 honor. This gear is especially useful for PvP twinks because it increases a character's resilience, an attribute that decreases the amount of damage the character takes from other players.

    Justice Heirlooms

    • Other heirloom items can be bought with justice points, a currency players earn by completing dungeons or raids. Players can buy pauldrons and weapons with justice points, however, the gear that can be bought with honor points is more powerful for a PvP twink. Justice points can, however, buy another trinket, which can be very useful for twinks. Characters can equip two trinkets at a time, so it is best to buy the honor trinket and a justice trinket. Players can buy these items from the Justice Heirlooms vendor located in Orgrimmar for Horde characters and Stormwind for Alliance characters.
