Adult Halloween Activities
Though it's common to associate Halloween with kids and trick-or-treating, adults also love the holiday's spooky fun and the excitement of dressing up. If you want a more grown-up version of the holiday this year, try adult Halloween activities. You can have kid-free fun without worrying about keeping it G-rated. Does this Spark an idea?

Themed Parties
-
If you want to have a naughty Halloween, throw a Playboy-themed party. Tell male guests to dress like Hugh Hefner, or a stereotypical ladies' man, and female guests to dress like Playmates. If you want an elegant Halloween get-together, try a masquerade ball. Go all out with glittering decor and hors d'oeuvres. Invite guests well in advance so they can assemble a fabulous costume. You could also throw a 1920s speakeasy party. Serve classic cocktails, such as New York Sour and French 75. Tell men to come as gangsters and women as flappers.
Games
-
Have a bunch of friends over and play Halloween movie trivia. Put guests into teams and see how many quotes each team can match to the correct horror movie. Or, take teams outside and distribute sidewalk chalk. Tell each team to draw an outline of a famous dead person. Beside the person, they should draw the outlines of relevant items; for example, a team drawing a dead Michael Jackson could draw a record, handcuffs, four other small human outlines -- to form the Jackson Five -- and a large mansion. If your group is an artistic one, get out an easel and large paper pad and play Halloween Pictionary. Divide players into two teams. One person draws a slip of paper with a word or phrase on it and must get teammates to guess it only by drawing it on the pad. Don't use obvious words, such as cat or pumpkin; instead, have players draw famous serial killers or horror movie posters.

Outdoor Activities
-
Rent a trailer and attach it to a friend's truck. Pile it up with hay and take a hayride with friends. Pack camping gear, food and drinks, and go camping together. Build a bonfire and tell the scariest stories you know. If you want to scare yourselves, buy flashlights, find a big cornfield and play hide-and-seek. Enter the cornfield at different points and turn your flashlight on. If you get caught in another player's beam, you're out. The winner is the person who "shines" the most players.
Other Activities
-
Check your city's event calendar for Halloween festivals and celebrations. Find the most terrifying haunted house you can and take your friends along. Rent a big projection screen and projector. Set it up in a large open space, such as a friend's back yard, and put on horror movies. Attend a murder mystery dinner theater showing. Tour a cemetery. Hold a seance and attempt to contact famous dead people. Get out the Ouija board and see what answers you can get.
