Las Vegas continues to be a top destination for people from around the world to celebrate New Year's Eve. Tens of thousands ring in the new year on the Strip, which is a four-mile street of hotels and casinos. With all the outdoor events, casinos, nightclubs and concerts, Las Vegas has a variety of options for celebrating New Year's Eve. Does this Spark an idea?

Club Scene and Performances

Las Vegas clubs for the 21-and-over-crowd celebrate New Year's Eve with an open bar and hors d'oeuvres. Several big name celebrities and performers schedule appearances each year at the many of the clubs. Reality show star Kim Kardashian is scheduled to host New Year's Eve in 2011 at the Tao inside the Venetian. Most of these clubs have a dress code and will decline entrance to guests not properly dressed. Collared, button-up shirts and dress shoes are required for men. The Haze, House of Blues, the Playboy Club, the Bank and Lavo are among the clubs with big New Year's Eve events. Cover charges are generally around $100, at the time of publication.
Fireworks Show

Seven Las Vegas casinos along the Strip display a simultaneous fireworks show at the stroke of midnight to ring in the new year. The Stratosphere, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, the Venetian and the Aria Resort and Casino shoot off fireworks from the rooftops. The event is set to music. Several hours before the fireworks, large crowds gather along the Strip, which is closed to traffic. An hour before the fireworks show, the casinos lock the doors facing the Strip, but re-open to the public at 12:30 a.m.

America's Party on Fremont Street

Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas holds an annual event called America's Party, an outdoor festival with 14 combined hours of live concerts performed by tribute bands on three stages. This event is extremely popular among tourists and attracts huge crowds. Guest must be at least 21 years old. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the gate. Nevada residents receive a discounted price with proof of identification.

Featured shows and performances are other ways to enjoy New Year's in Las Vegas. Nearly all venues and nightclubs have regular shows or special performances. The celebrations feature free food, an open bar and free champagne with admission. V.I.P. table packages provide free bottles of champagne and other beverages. On New Year's Eve, guests can see big-name acts like Celine Dion, David Copperfield and the Blue Man Group.
