Craft Ideas for Votive Candle Holders
After using a hanging votive candle, keep the little glass jar for craft projects. Reusing items keeps them out of a landfill, which is good for the environment, and you can reuse the jars in creative ways, whether you're making rest on a bookshelf or to give as a gift.

Turn the candle holder into a different kind of holder. Remove any residual candle wax by placing the votive in the freezer. Use a butter knife to chip out the wax or immerse the jar in hot water for a few minutes and use a cloth to wipe out the wax. Wash the votive and place whatever you please in it. Make a mini candy jar by filling it with M&Ms, chocolate-covered peanuts, Skittles or Reese's Pieces. Or, make a mini potpourri jar by filling it with a sweet-smelling mix.

Turn the votive into a tiny planter. Items for this craft can be found at crafts or hobby stores. Remove any wax from the jar and clean it. Cut florist's foam to size and glue it into the votive.
