Free Driving Games for Teens
Learning to drive is a challenge for teens, their parents, and others on the roads. Teens can learn safe driving skills, proper rules for driving, and parking with simulated games on the web. They can also experience how difficult it is to text and drive at the same time. Another game tests teens ability to maintain the appropriate speed on a freeway during rush hour.

Drivers' Education
-
Drivers' education teachers can be very intimidating. There is a free driving game at Funny Games in which you have a driving instructor named Ed. You listen to his instructions and use the arrow keys to drive your vehicle. You have a chance to practice making turns, stopping, parking, and merging with traffic before taking the driving exam. You receive demerits when you do something wrong, and Ed reacts accordingly. It is a humorous, but effective way to learn the safe driving practices of the road.
Learn 4 Good
-
You can learn to drive online before getting out into real traffic. There is another free driver education simulator game at Learn 4 Good for teens or kids. In this game, you can choose from four instructors. You steer your car using the arrow keys and the space bar stops your vehicle. When you do something wrong, like running a red light or not yielding to a pedestrian, a warning sign comes on. When you achieve your goal, you are passed on to the next task. It is good practice before you actually get into a car on the road.

Test Reflexes
-
Teens can try to text and drive online to see how difficult it would be in a real situation. The State of Delaware offers games for teens to test their reflexes. The first one involves sheep which run across the screen. You must click a dart when you see a sheep start to run to test your reaction time. Then it gives you the time it took for you to respond and rates you accordingly. Reaction time is important when you are driving a car. The next game offered is a parallel parking challenge. The last game challenges your ability to text while driving through gates. You must use the numbers on your keyboard (not the number pad) to choose the right gate. Then a message comes in, and you must respond to it while you still drive through the gates. It shows you how dangerous it can be to read and text while you drive.
Rush Hour Driving
-
Teens can start to satisfy their desire to drive with simulation games online. At Driving Skills For Life there is a game called "The Five O'clock Challenge." Using the arrow keys you merge onto the freeway. You must maintain an appropriate speed without tailgating or running into another car. It gives a deduction if you get too close to another car, speed or slow down too much. You are disqualified if you make too many errors. You can try the game multiple times to improve your score. If you exit at the right time, you are congratulated and given a score. You can see how fast you are going at all times. It is a great game to get a feel for driving on a freeway during rush hour.
