Wrapped Candy Craft Ideas
Candy makes a great gift, but it's even more fun when crafted into something special. Don't just give a jar of candy with ribbons on it. Instead, make something unique out of wrapped candy. Favorites are wreaths, holiday ornaments, gift mugs and candy centerpieces. Many of these are easy enough for even young children to make to give as loving gifts.

Wreaths
-
Hard candies are perfect for wreaths. Wreaths can be made with a number of different wrapped candies. Shape your circular form from a coat hanger, then tie on wrapped candies one at a time. Candies like tootsie rolls or bubble gum that already have twist ties are easiest to use, but any wrapped candy with and end can be tied on with ribbon. Finish with a large bow to cover twist end of coat hanger.
Ornaments
-
Hang a Hershey kiss inside a heart made of candy canes. Make holiday treats for Valentine's Day, Christmas or Halloween with wrapped candy. Help the kids make Christmas trains or airplanes to give to classmates or hang on the tree. Make heart ornaments out of candy canes and Hershey kisses for Valentine's Day or Christmas. Or give ghost lollipops for Halloween treats. Christmas mice can be made with candy canes or make a candy cane sleigh.

Gifts and Mugs
-
Fill a mug with a styrofoam form covered with wrapped candy. Instead of flowers for Mother's Day or birthdays, fill a mug or vase with candy. Put in a piece of styrofoam shaped to size, then cover with wrapped candies. You can even make them look like flowers by attaching candy that looks like buds (like strawberry bon-bons) to a long floral pick with silk leaves. Add a bow and you have a great gift.
Centerpieces
-
Cover a foam cone with wrapped chocolate bars for the chocoholic. You can use the candy wreath described above as a decoration to display a large pillar candle for a centerpiece. Just add a few embellishments to match other table decor. Or make a large candy tree for your centerpiece. You can make it multi-colored or all one color for a dramatic effect. If you know a chocoholic, cover a styrofoam cone with wrapped chocolate bars.
