The Chevrolet Trailblazer started out as a trim package for the Chevrolet Blazer. In 2002, Chevrolet launched the Trailblazer as a new sport utility vehicle. The truck was offered in three different trim levels, but the most popular was the "LS" and the "LT" packages. They were the same in engine size and capabilities, but the "LT" package provided a few more features to provide maximum comfort.
Seating
The LS package provided a four-way power seat for comfort, especially during long trips or sitting in traffic. The LT package stepped up the seating and provided an eight-way power seat. The seats in the LT had a built-in seat heater for those cold mornings. The LT also had memory seating. This function allows the driver to press a button and the seat will return to a pre-set position. Both trim packages provided an adjustable head rest.
Stereo
The LS and LT trim levels came equipped with an AM/FM stereo with a CD player. The XM satellite radio was also standard with both radios. The sound was backed by six speakers. The LT provided radio controls on the steering wheel and radio controls for the rear seats. The LT also had an LCD screen for the second row of seats. The LS did not come standard with that option.
Conveniences
The LT package offered an exterior temperature display and a standard theft-deterrent system. The LT also provided a programmable garage door opener. The LT is also equipped with electric powered adjustable pedals and a compass for easy navigation. The LT and LS came standard with OnStar and a keyfob for locking and unlocking the doors remotely. The LS and LT shared many other convenience options such as one-touch power windows and cruise control.
Exterior
The LS provided manual adjustable mirrors while the LT comes equipped with electric mirrors with a remote switch for easy adjustments. The LT offered a roof rack standard unlike the LS package where the roof rack was optional. Running boards were optional on both trim levels but fender flares were only optional on the LT trim level. Both trim levels offered rear variable intermittent windshield wipers and daytime running lights.
