Costume Ideas for Go-Go Dancers

Dress up as a go-go dancer for Halloween or any costume party. No matter the outfit you decide to wear or how you style your hair, the item that really ties together any go-go dancer costume are the go-go boots themselves. Even if you wear bell bottom pants, you can still show off your go-go-boots.

Dress the Part

Get a retro mini dress with a bold '60s print. Stick to bright colors, such as yellow, hot pink or orange. The dress can have bell sleeves or it can be a halter cut and therefore sleeveless. The dress should have an A-line cut and hit mid-thigh.

Wearing the Pants

You don't need to wear a mini dress if you feel uncomfortable. You can wear a bright halter top and matching bell bottom pants. As with the dress, the top and pants should have a bold print and you should stick to bright colors.

The Hairstyle

There are a few hairstyles from which you can choose when putting together a go-go dancer costume. Style longer hair in a flip, style shorter hair in a smart bob or wear your hair in an afro. You can always purchase a wig at a costume shop.

The Boots

You can purchase go-go boots online at any costume store or even regular shoe store. You can now find go-go boots in black or any color from yellow to red. However, for more authenticity, stick to wearing white ones.
