Youth Snack Supper Ideas
Stock your fridge with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, cheese and meat. When you need to make a quick snack-type supper kids you will be prepared, and your kids will not be tempted to fill up on cookies, chips and sweets. Pizza Snacks

Invite the kids join in to make several pizzas for future snack suppers. Rolling out the dough, grating cheese and cutting veggies are fun projects for young people. Bake the pizza, cut it into small bite-sized pieces and freeze it for future snack dinners, when you are too busy to cook. Have some fresh fruit or ice cream available for dessert with the pizza.
Dips

Most kids enjoy putting veggies and chips into a variety of tasty dips. Whip up some guacamole with avocados. Salsa, either homemade or prepared, is another healthy dip choice. Try non-fat yogurt seasoned with Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper as another choice. Line up the different sauces for a dipping frenzy. Add more protein to your snack supper by mixing cheddar cheese in the salsa and microwaving it for a few minutes. Yogurt sweetened with honey makes a dessert dip for fresh fruit to round out the meal.

Deli meats such as fresh turkey, roast beef and ham are solid proteins great for hungry youth. Roll up the meats and serve them on a platter along with carrots, celery and black olives. Serve meats with bread cut in half or with whole grain crackers. Include mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup to enhance the snack sandwiches.
Meat Balls

Keep a container of small meatballs in your freezer for quick last minute snack dinners for kids. Warm up some spaghetti sauce and the meatballs. Spear the meatballs with toothpicks and serve them on a large platter. Plates of vegetables and garlic toast round out this filling meal. These meatballs will be appreciated by any crowd of young people.

Pull out a container cottage cheese from the fridge for a healthy, protein-filled snack dinner for kids. Combine the cottage cheese with fresh fruit or veggies. Serve whole grain, low-sugar cereal with fresh fruit for a dinner snack. Celery and apples with peanut butter make a filling and favorite snack as well. Canned tuna or shrimp whipped up with mayonnaise creates a healthy and filling topping for crackers or bread.
