Halloween is the one time of the year you can be creepy, freaky and scary and everyone thinks it is normal behavior. Set the mood for your Halloween party with a CD of scary sounds and music. Create spooky decorations, such as black silhouettes in windows and stacks of fake bones. And play scary and gross adult Halloween games to keep your party lively. Does this Spark an idea?

Name the Horror Film
-
Play Name the Horror Film using music or video. Divide the guests into teams. For the music version, play the theme songs to various horror films and let the guests call out the correct name of the film. If you choose the video version, you must create a DVD with scary clips from different movies. Allow the scene to play for 20 to 30 seconds and stop the video. Let the guessing begin. Go on to the next movie scene once the guests have the right answer.
Frankenstein's Monster
-
Start with a clean table and ask the guests to gather around. Present each guest with a "body part" with which to re-create Frankenstein's monster. It is your choice as to how gross this game gets. Either use regular kitchen food items, such as pasta, peeled grapes, hard-boiled eggs and cooked cauliflower, or ask your local butcher for scraps such as a cow's tongue, a liver and bones. Once each guest has his item, ask the group to assemble the body.

Body Part Scavenger Hunt
-
Hide fake body parts, such as fingers, brains, eyes and bones, in bowls of gelatin. Keep with the Halloween theme by pouring the gelatin in hollowed out pumpkins. Give the guests a list of items for the scavenger hunt. The fun part is letting the guest use her imagination about what she finds in the gelatin. Incorporate food items, such as sausage rolls for intestines, carrots and celery for bones, peanuts for teeth and chunks of watermelon for flesh. The more body parts the guest finds with her hands, the more points she wins.
Raising the Dead
-
You need a partner to pull off a Raising of the Dead. Build a coffin from plywood or cardboard and lay in a stuffed body. Use a latex or rubber mask for the face. Fill small vials or decorative pouches with an assortment of spices from your kitchen pantry. Distract the guests long enough for your partner to slip into the coffin and put on the mask. Gather the guests around the coffin and teach them a simple chant to repeat as you burn incense and throw the spices around the coffin. At the sound of a previously chosen word or sound, the "body" sits up in the coffin, scaring the guests. This is one game that is best set up in advance but played toward the end of the party so the guests think the body is fake.
