Bumblebee Costume Ideas
Anyone, no matter what age or sex, can dress up as a bumblebee for Halloween or a costume party. You probably already own most of the things that you need to wear to create your costume. If you don't, a little improvisation can go a long way. Once you've created your costume, all you need are a few accessories to complete your outfit.

An ideal top to wear for a bumblebee costume is one that has thick, horizontal, black and yellow stripes. This can be a tank top, a body suit or a T-shirt for girls and a black, hooded sweatshirt, long-sleeved shirt or T-shirt for men and boys. If you can't find a top with horizontal stripes, you can make one by using fabric paint on a shirt to paint the stripes. However, you can choose to wear a solid yellow or solid black shirt instead and incorporate the stripes in another way, such as with a pair of striped leggings.

If you decide to wear a yellow shirt, wear a short, black skirt and vice versa. The skirt can be knee length or above the knee. An ideal skirt would be one that looks like a ballerina's tutu, however, a mini skirt would work well too. Women and girls can wear a pair of black or striped leggings, stockings or knee-length socks and wear a pair of yellow leg warmers or socks over them. Boys and men can wear a pair of black or yellow pants or shorts.

The kinds of shoes that you can wear depends on the person wearing the bumblebee costume. A little girl can wear black sneakers, flat Mary Janes or ballerina shoes. Men and boys can wear black sneakers or leather shoes. Adult females have the same options as little girls but can also choose to wear other shoe styles. For example, adults can wear a pair of black stilettos, high-heeled Mary Janes or high-heeled, knee-high boots. There's really no wrong style but black would be the ideal color to wear.

Everyone dressing like a bumblebee should complete the look by wearing a pair of wings and a hair band with antennas. Women and girls can wear a pair of yellow or black, elbow-length, cotton or satin gloves. Women and girls might want to carry a plastic flower, such as a large sunflower. Women and girls can even wear a crown on their heads, which you can generally buy from a toy store, to look like a queen bee.
