HAAS CNC VF-OE Specs
The HAAS VF-OE is a computer numeric control (CNC) machine that is capable of cutting various types of materials but is especially useful for cutting metals of all types. With a powerful spindle motor and over two feet of X axis travel, the VF-OE is an affordable piece of equipment seen in many machine shops. Table

The HAAS VF-OE has a 36-inch wide work table that is capable of holding thousands of pounds. The table is 14 inches deep along the Y axis as well and provides a perfectly flat surface for machining all types of materials including metals such as aluminum and steel as well as plastics and graphite among others. The work table has slots that run the entire length of the X axis that accept T-bolts for holding down raw material, fixtures or vises.
CNC Control

The CNC control on the HAAS VF-OE is capable of program transfers through a USB flash drive, floppy drive or using the R-232 port for older types of transfer devices. The program can be created in G Code or conversational language at the control as well. Manual controls for the spindle and tool turret are also on the control itself and the emergency stop is located on the front of the control for operator safety. Tool information is held in the CNC control as well.

Spindle

The VF-OE has a 20hp spindle that is capable of speeds up to 10,000 rpms. These motor power also allows for rigid tapping, which is when the spindle does all of the tapping operations without the use of a specialized spindle head. The spindle is capable of 30 inches of X axis travel as well as 16 inches of Y axis travel. The tool holder and spindle are capable of holding CAT 40 tool holders, which is the standard size for a machine of this size and power.
Tooling and Miscellaneous

The tool holder is capable of holding up to 20 tools in the holder including drills, end mills and taps. Each tool must be held with a CAT 40 holder to be used in conjunction with the VF-OE as the spindle will only accept these types of tool holders. There is a chip auger built in that will move chips from the chip bed out of the machine as well as a fully enclosed tank for coolant.
