Risks of Permanent Eyebrows
The idea of having permanently perfect eyebrows is certainly appealing. Many women groom their eyebrows daily, using eyebrow pencils, powders and waxes to create the perfect eyebrows. It's no wonder, considering the dramatic effect that well-groomed eyebrows can have on the face. By opting for permanent eyebrows, many believe they save time and always have picture-perfect eyebrows. Others, who have lost their hair due to alopecia, cancer treatments, or burns, opt for the procedure simply to restore their appearance. In either case, the procedure involves tattooing pigment in the brows to permanently shape and fill the area. However, like all permanent make-up options, there are also many risks you should consider before getting this procedure. Does this Spark an idea?

Allergic Reactions
-
Allergic reactions are one possible risk of getting this procedure. In these cases, patients report symptoms such as swelling, bumps and redness. Such allergic reactions are caused by an underlying allergy to the dye in the permanent makeup. These reactions can be troublesome because they can lead to scarring and because the pigments in the permanent makeup are not always easy to remove.
Changing Styles
-
Another factor you should consider is that eyebrow shapes are subject to trends. Over the years, the fashion for eyebrows has been thick, thin, drawn on, arched, angled, rounded, winged and straight. By choosing a permanent eyebrow style, you run the risk that the style may change in the future and your eyebrows might be permanently dated.

Aging Complications
-
As you age, your brow position changes. If you decide to enhance your eyebrows through a permanent procedure, the tattoo may not settle in a flattering way. Also, eyebrows generally lighten as you age, so the color you choose as a young person opts may not look natural or flattering when you are older. Alternately, tattoos often fade over time. Even in the best case, when you are happy with the overall results of the procedure, you must be prepared to have touch-up procedures in case the pigment fades.
Bad Results
-
As with any permanent procedure, perhaps the worst possibility is that the results may simply be bad. There is no guarantee of success. Imagine being stuck with eyebrows that are too thick, too thin, too large, too small, uneven, asymmetrical, or even the wrong color. In these cases, patients either have to put up with the results or endure painful and expensive laser tattoo removal procedures, which are not always successful.
