Funny Pop-Culture Costume Ideas
Pop-culture costumes are often humorous, but also very common. Most of the time people tend to copy one another. Be creative this Halloween and break the mold by dressing up like one of these more obscure pop-culture references. The costumes listed are also inexpensive and easy to put together at home.

G.T.L. from the "Jersey Shore"
-
The cast members of the "Jersey Shore" are infamous for their tan skin, big hair and flashy clothes. Stand apart from the other Snookies and Situations by dressing as the cast members' favorite pastime: gym, tanning and laundry. For gym, wear sweatbands on your head and wrists. For tanning, use a tanning lotion on the entire body or spray tan before the big event. Hang a pair of tanning goggles around your neck. For the laundry part, choose shorts and a tank top as the base layer. Using safety pins, pin "dirty" clothes to your outfit.
Double Rainbow
-
Recreate the wonder and hilarity behind the video-turned-Internet-sensation, "Double Rainbow." Wear an outfit in primary colors for the base layer. Create a rainbow sandwich board using cardboard, paint, two strips of fabric and heavy-duty glue. Paint two separate rainbows on the cardboard large enough to cross the width of the body. After the rainbows dry, cut them out and glue the two strips of fabric to the cardboard to create the sandwich board. Wear one rainbow in the front and one in the back. Walk around asking people, "What does it mean?"

Jet Blue Employee, Steven Slater
-
Steven Slater gained national attention as the guy who made a dramatic exit after quitting his flight-attendant position with Jet Blue. After quitting while on the airplane, Slater grabbed a beer and exited the plane on an emergency slide. For this costume, you need an all blue outfit: button-down dress shirt, dress pants, tie and apron. With white paint or a white correction pen, write "Jet Blue" on the top of the apron. Carry a beer can around with you and a face full of rage.
Tobias Funke from "Arrested Development"
-
Dressing up as Tobias, a strange ex-psychologist "never-nude" from the short-lived hit show, "Arrested Development," will grab the attention of others at the next Halloween party. Anyone can easily see Tobias's eccentric personality in this costume. You will need a pair of cut-off jean shorts, blue body paint, bald cap, round glasses and a fake mustache. Cover the entire face, head and body with blue paint. For women dressing up as Tobias, wear a blue tank top or bikini top to blend in with the paint.
