The Best July 4th Fireworks
Sine 1777, a year after the Declaration of Independence was signed, fireworks have been lit to commemorate patriotism on July 4th. Most of the best locations to watch fireworks on this national holiday are in cities where the nation got its start. Blooms of exploding light, rockets and pinwheels are launched over bodies of water with monuments of the nation illuminated in the background, creating an unforgettable experience. Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular

The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular has been rocking since 1974. "Travel & Leisure" and Fox News both nominated Boston as one of the best locations to see the rockets launch. People line up along the Charles River Esplanade all day to watch the half-hour fireworks show. Fireworks are launched over the Charles River, which divides Cambridge from Boston. The Boston Pops start singing at around 8:30 p.m. The concert and fireworks end at 11 p.m.
Washington, D.C.

A half million people watch the fireworks from the Mall in Washington, D.C., every year, according to "Travel & Leisure." The Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument provide a backdrop for the fireworks, which are launched from the Reflecting Pool. National Symphony Orchestra performs live to the fireworks on the West Lawn of the Capitol. PBS records it and shows the celebration live on television and radio. The fireworks are launched at 8 p.m. and finish at 9:30.

Philadelphia, which hosted the first Independence Day, is also one of the best locations to watch fireworks displays, according to Fox News. The fireworks are launched with the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the background. The concert and fireworks display kick off at 5 p.m. and last until 11. Benjamin Franklin Parkway is the best place from where to watch the show.
New York City

The Macy's Fireworks Display has been illuminating the New York City skyline sine 1976. The Empire State Building and Chrysler Building provide a scenic backdrop as the shells are launched from the Hudson River. More than 40,000 shells are launched from six barges on the Hudson River. The best place to watch the show is from New Jersey in Weehawken and Hoboken. The fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. and continue until 11.
