Ideas for Celebrating Customer Service Week
Customer Service Week is celebrated nationally to honor those who serve and support customers and to recognize the importance of customer service. It is celebrated annually during the first full week of October. Customer Service Week is a relatively new holiday, only proclaimed by the U.S. Congress as a nationally recognized event in 1992. Celebrate Your Employees.

Customer service representatives are often the face of a company to the customers. Throw a small party for them with catered food from a local favorite restaurant and hand out certificates of appreciation. Sign each one and include a personalized note stating what you appreciate about each employee.
Host Contests.

Friendly competition is a great team-building exercise, as well as a way to have fun. Host a contest such as a relay race, karaoke contest, or paper plane race. Taking ideas from popular TV game shows can be good inspiration. For instance, a game of company-themed "Jeopardy" or "Family Feud."

Have Theme Days.

Celebrate all week by assigning a different theme to each day. For example, Pajama Day, Sports Day, Costume Day, Company Colors Day, or even Casual Friday. There are unlimited options and everyone can participate in the fun.
Thank Your Customers.

Send personalized thank you cards to your customers. Include a handwritten note and a picture of the staff. Have special Customer Service Week discount or run a special in the local paper.
Encourage Recognition Among Staff.

Put up a bulletin board with paper and pens supplied so employees can pin up notes of gratitude for their co-workers. Encourage everyone to put up at least one note a day to appreciate their peers positive actions.
