Electric Crepe Maker Tools
Crepes are a light, airy food that are made from a batter and are similar to a pancake but much thinner. An electric crepe maker automates the cooking process and takes some of the guess work out of making crepes by providing such innovations as a temperature thermostat to ensure cooking at a consistent temperature. The following are some of the tools that you will need to make crepes with an electric crepe maker. Does this Spark an idea?

Ladle
-
A ladle is a curved instrument with a long handle attached to a deep bowl that is used to scoop up liquid crepe batter to pour it out onto the hot crepe griddle surface. Ladles are usually made of stainless steel and can also be used to serve soups and sauces. Sizes of ladles vary by the capacity of the bowl end and the length of the handle. For the purposes of making crepes, a ladle with the serving capacity of 4 to 6 oz. should serve enough crepe batter to make a thin 12-inch crepe.
Crepe Spatula
-
A crepe spatula is a long narrow tool that looks similar to a wooden paint stirrer and is usually made from wood, nylon or some other nonstick material. The tool is meant to remove the crepe from the hot pan by approaching it from the side and using its length to evenly lift the crepe. The edges of the crepe spatula are rounded to protect the crepe from tearing

Crepe Spreader
-
A crepe spreader is sometimes called a crepe rake due to its shape. It is has a long blade that measures about 6 to 7 inches in length and is attached to a small handle. The spreader's main purpose is to spread the crepe batter on the pan so that it will produce the thinnest crepe possible. The crepe batter is usually spread around the pan in a circular motion, starting from the center outward, so that the batter is distributed in a uniformly thin layer across the pan. A crepe spreader is usually made from wood.
Cleaning Brush
-
Some electric crepe makers come with a brush for cleaning the heating surface. Since a smooth, clean surface is vital for making the thin crepes, a brush is necessary to remove bits and pieces that remain on the griddle surface after cooking to protect the nonstick surface. It is also a good idea to wipe off the surface of the crepe maker with a cloth or paper towel after use.
